2018 está siendo hasta el momento un año muy interesante para mí.
Sé que soy un poco lenta en actualizar mi página, pero a veces no tengo tiempo, a veces no encuentro las ganas. Y a pesar de qué sé que sería más sencillo contar con alguien que hiciera este trabajo por mí, creo que parte de quien soy también se ve reflejada en él y no quiero que sea tan frío, que ya bastante lo son mis otras redes sociales.
Así que me pongo al día con el primer proyecto de este año (sólo de pensar en actualizar lo que he hecho antes, me mareo).
Llevo un tiempo colaborando con la galería Durán, algo que me encanta pues Consuelo Duran es adorable. A través de esta galería he podido participar en algunos eventos muy interesantes. El último y el primero de este año ha sido y es, porque aún está en marcha, pintar una escultura de las Meninas de Velazquez reinterpretada por el artista Azzato.
No había hecho antes algo así, y me gustó la idea a priori, pues las Meninas se exponen en las calles de Madrid y si algo le gusta a un escritor de graffiti es la calle.
Así, que tras aceptar, viajé a Madrid, que es también mi hogar, porque a parte de amigos de graffiti, tengo amigos de vida, de esos con los que quieres ir envejeciendo.
Una vez allí, busqué un local dónde trabajar y me puse manos a la obra.
La verdad, es que nunca había prestado especial atención a las Meninas. Había visto el cuadro en vivo y conozco la historia pero ya está. Nunca había pensado qué representaba hasta el momento en que tuve delante la escultura y al principio me quedé tan en blanco como ella, jaja.
Después de muchas vueltas decidí titular mi “menina” Anarcronismo. Una mezcla entre dos ideas, anacrónico y anárquico. La Menina como personaje es una representación del pasado. Una figura que no tiene cabida en este tiempo, pero que a la vez al ponerla en la calle, se libera a la anarquía del entorno y se sumerge de lleno en el presente.
De la misma manera, fui consciente de que nada que pudiera hacer iba restar información a la figura en sí, pues tiene un significado propio atemporal.

2018 is being a very interesting year for me.
I know I'm a bit slow to update my page, but sometimes I do not have time, sometimes I do not feel like it. And although I know that it would be easier to have someone to do this work for me, I think part of who I am is also reflected in it and I don’t want it to be so cold.
So I catch up with the first project this year (just thinking about updating what I've done before, I get dizzy).
I've been collaborating with Duran Gallery for some time, something I love because Consuelo Duran is adorable. Through this gallery I have been able to participate in some very interesting events. The last and the first of this year has been and is, because it is still underway, to paint a sculpture of Las Meninas by Velazquez reinterpreted by the artist Azzato.
I hadn’t done something like that before, and I liked the idea, because Las Meninas are exposed in the streets of Madrid and that’s something a graffiti writer likes.
So, after accepting, I traveled to Madrid, which is also my home, because I have a lot of friends, the kind you want to grow old with.
Once there, I looked for a place to work.
The truth is that I had never paid special attention to the Meninas. I’d seen the painting live and I know the story but that's it. I had never thought about what it represented until the moment I had the sculpture in front of me, and at first I was as blank as she was.
After thinking about it I decided to title my "menina" Anarcronismo. A mixture between two ideas, anachronistic and anarchic. La Menina as a character is a representation of the past. A figure that has no place in this time, but at the same time when it is on the street, is released to the anarchy of the environment and immersed fully in the present.
In the same way, I was aware that nothing I could do would subtract information from the figure itself, as it has a timeless meaning of its own.
